Hey,
It’s me again! Thanks for your interest in finding out more about me. I promise not to bore you with the standard “Aaron Bradley was born in 1985 blah blah blah” stuff.
But since us weightlifters/bodybuilding enthusiasts like to know stats, here are mine:
Age: 26
Height: 6’1″ (no shoes)
Weight: 230
Body Fat %: Still workin’ on it, so I’ll get back to ya
As I mentioned on the homepage, I am a self-taught musician composer and producer, as well as a fitness/weight training enthusiast.
Over the years, I’ve produced and composed music in a number of genres which include classical, rock, hip hop, r&b, pop, jazz, classical, cinematic orchestral and pretty much anything else.
I’ve worked with artists from around the world, and my music has also been used in a number of television shows and films for major TV networks.
I’ve also been very interested and enthusiastic about fitness, specifically weightlifting and bodybuilding since I was young.
I started lifting weights around the same time that I started teaching myself to play different musical instruments.
Although I admit in the beginning I was more consistent with my music career than my fitness activities during those years, my excuse was that I participated in sports during high school.
That changed when I began studying more about the process of bodybuilding and got extremely interested in developing my physique.
This was especially important after high school, because the rigorous schedule of a full-time music producer/composer who sits down playing instruments or at a mixing board for up to 16-20 hours a day can lead to massive growth in the belly area…
My goal of gaining weight became much easier during those years, but of course it was the wrong kind of weight.
I of course was bored at the idea of walking on the treadmill for hours, plus the guys I knew who did it looked sick.
So I really got interested in lifting weights to build an impressive physique. That is a journey that I am still on today.
Over the years, I learned how valuable music can be to enhancing my workouts. I experienced this with some of my buddies that I used to train with.
That experience began years ago, even before music became my primary career. We were going to the gym 5 nights a week, after our grueling 12 hour work-shifts in the steel factory (also known as Caterpillar).
Guess you could say we were quite dedicated…
We thought that our workouts were going great, as we were gaining strength and mass every month.
Yea, that was until a “new guy” started working the front desk at the gym. Our workouts, results, and strength now seemed to increase every week, instead of every month! Our motivation while in the gym was at an all-time high!
But what did a “new guy” working at the gym front desk have to do with our almost instant increase in motivation and strength, which ultimately helped lead to more muscle mass and definition?
The answer was simple, this “new guy” at the front desk was also in control of the music being played on the gym speakers. Every time certain songs came on, everyone in the group would instantly get a second wind and be ready to hit the next set before the song went off.
Now, this dude was a strong dude himself, and sometimes worked out with us.
The thing is, I didn’t realize how much of an effect the music was having on the quality of our workouts, until our new front desk gym buddy would take nights off and some other overweight careless dude would sit at the front and play a bunch of sad soft, lovey dovey cake batter cupcake songs over the speakers.
Suddenly, the motivation, strength displayed, and pace of our workouts slowed down immensely.
But when our buddy was back, the workouts were back to high intensity, strength was up, and we would all put up some of the biggest weight we had ever dared to try.
It got to a point where whenever we walked in and saw him at the front desk, we’d feel good to know that we were about to have a great workout, because the music would be right.
Well, sooner than we expected, he got “canned” from the gym and we were left with the good ole’ overweight or puny cats workin’ the front desk playin’ love songs and rave music.
Now, before you get all hostile on me, understand that I’m not saying anything negative about love songs and rave music. As I said, I’ve created it all when the project called for it.
I’m simply saying that when you are trying to lift heavy weights and pack on muscle mass, then that may not be the best type of music to listen to. But everyone is different, so if you think falling in love while playing with 100 pound dumbbells will work for you, then be my guest.
But back to my story…
So basically, after enough time passed, one of the top dawgs in our weight lifting group moved to another city, and although we continued strong without him, eventually my remaining weight lifting partners started losing motivation to continue on.
One of the guys actually stated, “Man, I ain’t goin’ to the gym to try and workout to that crappy music.”
Well, eventually it was back to me working out alone, by myself. At that point, I enlisted the help of my trusty iPod and selected my own music to help get me through my workouts more effectively.
But a good workout partner who’s as focused as you are and has great goals can go a long way.
So although I started using my iPod and picking better songs, the motivation, intensity, and mentally driven strength just wasn’t there like it was before. So like a lot of people, I fell off and became inconsistent with my workouts, lost motivation, and lost some of the mass and definition that I had worked so hard for.
I spent a lot of time in thought trying to figure out how to get myself going again, and thought a lot, as well as talked a lot with my old gym buddies about our previous experiences in the gym.
By now, music production and composing had become my full-time career.
I started to think about the effects of the music on our workouts when we were “in our workout prime.” I also thought about how beneficial it was to have a partner speaking, yelling & screaming, encouraging, and motivating you to push hard during your workouts.
This caused me to start doing some research, which led me to discover that there have been scientific case studies that concluded that music does indeed have an effect on a person’s energy, focus, and even strength when working out.
The effect that it does have, depends on the type of music, as the wrong type of music can have a negative effect.
I thought, “WOW! You mean to tell me that there is potential that a ‘wrong’ type of music could have a negative effect on your workout?”
Now while all of this was going on, a few movies came out that were really popular, but what caught my interest even further was that these movies were very popular among people who liked to lift weights, body build, fight, etc.
These were classic epic warrior movies such as “Gladiator” and “300.” I also recalled scenes from the movie “Rocky” where certain songs were played during Rocky Balboa’s training, as well as his triumphs. This was consistent with the other movies I mentioned.
So I started thinking to myself, “I make music for a living, so I wonder if I could create some type of music specifically for listening to while lifting weights and other types of exercise activity?”
I started asking people in the gym, on the rare occasion that I went, as well as some of the old gym buddies, what would they think.
Now, I realized that there was a thing known as “workout music” or “workout mix” versions of songs, but I always thought that the workout music available to the market was more for aerobics classes or running on the treadmill.
There wasn’t really anything made specifically for those of us who lift weights. When we are about to go up against those big monstrous weights that would intimidate anyone else, we want to get into a mindset that makes the weight intimidated of us!
So I decided I would try it out and test it on myself.
I would combine all of the elements mentioned above:
And most importantly, it would be made SPECIFICALLY for us weight lifters, BY A WEIGHTLIFTER…
So I started by creating just one song, adding all of these elements into play. I loaded it into my iPod, and sent it to one of my buddies who was a personal trainer at a local gym, and WHOA what a difference it had the very first time I used it!
My trainer buddy and I were amazed at what a difference it made right away. He would go to the gym and just put that one song on repeat in his iPod for his entire workout. I figured that I would make 1 or 2 more weight lifting songs for myself and a few friends…
…but before I exhausted myself trying to make more, I wanted to see if it would really work and be beneficial for weight lifters like you.
So what did I do next? I gave the song away to over 10,000 people on the internet, and this is what just a few of them said about it, publicly, on Facebook and Youtube!

That’s from the mouths of real people, displayed publicly at their own will on Facebook & YouTube! This doesn’t include the hundreds of positive comments that have been sent to my email!
This was a real encouragement for me to know that I had created a song that was helping people who I had never met from all over the world have a better weight lifting experience, set new personal best lifting records, and get motivated to achieve their weight lifting and bodybuilding goals.
So to the hundreds of you who have sent me emails as well as posted your thoughts and results publicly, I want to share my thanks and appreciation for your comments!
I also got a ton of emails asking when I was going to create more. Well, as I said, initially I was just going to create 1 or 2 more just for myself and a few buddies to help us get more out of our weight lifting workouts.
You see, creating these types of songs takes a lot of work, time and energy. But the emails and comments just kept pouring in from weightlifters like you from all over the world, asking for more.
So after getting all the kind comments and requests for more, I decided that I would make more.
…And so it began…
I began the quest of creating more weight lifting music, and testing it out on myself in the gym.
I didn’t want to just make a ton of songs and slap the weight lifting music label on them if they weren’t truly effective.
So I spent many workouts testing and trying to perfect the music to be optimized to give the listener the best weight lifting workout experience possible.
I’ve also spent a TON of time in the studio trying to perfect the mix to optimize the sound for the in-ear bud type of headphones that we typically use in the gym with our ipods/mp3 players.
You see, normally songs in the music industry are mixed and mastered for multiple different types of standard and general speaker systems and headphones, but the acoustics and gym environment is totally different, which can sometimes present dangers to the health of your hearing if you are not careful.
That is why these weight lifting songs that I’ve created have been strategically mixed to sound great on any speaker/headphone system, but ALSO optimized to sound great in your tiny little in-ear headphones, in a loud gym environment.
I’m still in the process of creating more songs. I want to eventually have 100 songs here dedicated to SUPERCHARGING your workouts.
That is my mission, to use my musical gifts to enhance the workouts of as many people as possible so that they can achieve their fitness goals.
I’ve had the privilege of serving many amateur as well as professional athletes, trainers, MMA Fighters, as well as NPC and IFBB bodybuilders as my customers.
I am grateful to be able to contribute to your goals of increased strength, health, physical appearance, confidence, and any other benefits that come as a result of great workouts.
This is where your ideas and suggestions come in handy. Since I am trying to create so many songs, I look forward to the feedback and comments from my customers and subscribers.
So you can always feel free to leave comments on the site and let me know what type of songs I can create for your next workouts.
In addition, I will soon have other artists, composers, and bands create music for us to use in our workouts. So your support will have a hand in the continued growth of MusicForMuscles!
Again, I look forward to serving you.
